Akedo Showten RamenGyoza fits perfectly into Langley’s growing scene of tight-knit noodle shops where the focus is on solid bowls rather than flashy frills. Located on Fraser Highway, this ramen spot leans heavily into authentic Japanese flavors, with a particular nod to different broth styles and carefully prepared toppings.

The space itself is modest — cozy rather than expansive — which sets a casual tone that’s ideal for a solo lunch or a quick dinner. Customers often mention the attentive and friendly staff who add to the welcoming vibe, making it a comfortable stop whether you’re on your own or with friends.

The menu offers a straightforward but thoughtfully curated selection. There’s variety for different tastes, including options like the Ajitama Ramen with a deep black soy broth, a Meat Lovers bowl combining pork and chicken chashu, and good vegetarian and vegan choices with broths made from chicken or completely plant-based. The portions are satisfying without being overwhelming.

One practical tip from regulars is to order kaedama — extra noodles — right when your ramen arrives. This keeps the noodles from clumping and lets you savor the broth to the very end without needing extra soup. Small touches like free roasted garlic garnish and condiments such as chili flakes and sesame on the table allow personalizing each bowl’s flavor, which ramen fans appreciate.

Alongside ramen, the gyoza and karaage stand out as reliable sides. The gyoza come pan-fried or boiled, filled with pork or chicken, while the karaage offers well-seasoned, crispy chicken pieces served with a duo of salts for dipping. These sides add variety to the meal without complicating the ordering process.

If you’re planning a visit, weekdays or early evening tend to be less crowded, but the spot is popular enough that scanning their QR code to reserve a table in advance can save waiting time. The atmosphere is unpretentious and focused on delivering a good noodle experience — no distractions, just solid bowls and a relaxed setting.

Akedo Showten is best for ramen enthusiasts who appreciate a balance of traditional technique and local practicalities. If you’re in Langley and looking for a spot where broth depth meets fresh noodles, and a friendly face behind the counter, this is where you’ll find that straightforward satisfaction.

Ramen is hella good. Except i think they put lil too much green onion, so be aware. And do get kaedama extra noodle as you order and put it in right away when the bowl of ramen is served to you. If not, the noodle will clump up and youll have no soup at the end to relax the noodles which means youd have to order extra soup as well.. (but are you that rich..? ) The gyoza was 3 pork or chicken and 3 kimchi flavor // quite pricey for the size and amount of gyoza. But ofc it tastes good. Feel like i shouldve gotten karaage.. well ig next time

I ordered the Meat Lovers Black with Spicy Chilli Paste and egg. I must say that this is the best Ramen I have had so far. It is served with slices of chicken and pork chasu, and veggies on a flavourful umami broth, which the noodles absorbed, making each bite so good. We also tried the karaage, well-seasoned crispy chicken bites served with two types of salt on the side. And lastly, their seasonal offer, the Matcha Float, was the perfect dessert drink. It's a creamy iced matcha drink topped with their yummy vanilla ice cream. Will definitely be back!

Nice little noodle shop with some good flavours. The noodles had a texture that reminds me of Japan. I had the black flavour soup but really enjoyed my wife's red. Going to order that next time. They also offer extra noodles for $2. The sesame, chili flakes, and fried garlic on the table also added a nice hit of extra flavour. I suggest you book a table in advance using their QR code. It took us about 40 minutes at around 6:30.

Stopped here for food on the way home and was really surprised by the quality and service of this little ramen shop. The broth was amazing and is made from chicken instead of pork and the chicken and pork chashu were both tender and flavourful. I highly recommend you come by if you're in Langley.

I just realized I’ve never left a review for Akedo Ramen, even though we’ve probably eaten here over a hundred times! This place is one of our absolute favorites. It’s one of the closest and best spots for authentic ramen, and the quality has always been consistent. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are always perfectly cooked, and the toppings are generous and fresh. The service is also top-notch especially the ates who are always so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend.

There are ramen shops, and then there are sanctuaries. Small, unassuming, hidden in the quiet folds of Langley, where the door swings open to the comforting hiss of broth and the gentle laughter of those who have discovered it, too. Akedo Showten Ramen + Gyoza is one of my favourite places in the world. I have been going there since the first week they opened, and each visit feels like stepping into a memory I want to live in forever. ⸻ The Bowl That Became Home It is, without question, one of the best ramen bowls I have ever had—anywhere. The kind of ramen that does not simply satisfy hunger but becomes a reason to pause the day. The broth is deep and soulful, the kind that steams up your glasses while your heart says, “Stay a while.” The noodles are tender yet confident, with that elusive bounce that tells you someone behind the counter knows what they’re doing. The chashu falls apart at the softest nudge, rich with umami, comforting as a wool sweater on a rainy day. The egg, with its molten golden center, is less garnish, more sunrise. ⸻ Gyoza, The Faithful Companion The gyoza arrives, golden and crisp on one side, delicate on the other, the pork and cabbage inside singing in quiet harmony. A bite dipped into the tangy sauce feels like a promise kept. ⸻ The Truffle Ramen: A Pilgrimage Worth Making And then, there is July. Somewhere in the heat of the summer, for just a few days, Akedo Showten offers truffle ramen. It is a hush that falls over the regulars when they post the announcement. A line forms—long, patient, eager. Because in those few days, the rich earthiness of truffle melds with their already impeccable broth, creating something rare and unforgettable. A bowl you wait for, happily, knowing that some things in life should be waited for. It is, without question, worth standing in line for. ⸻ Why You Go Because in a world that often moves too fast, there is a small ramen shop in Langley that teaches you to slow down. Because you have been going since the first week they opened, and it has never let you down. Because each bowl is a quiet reminder that comfort can be found in steam rising from broth, in noodles expertly made, in truffle that graces only a few days each July. Because Akedo Showten is not just a place you visit. It is a place you belong.

Really tasty ramen shop attached to a cute Japanese konbini. I ordered the Cheese ramen (with reluctance) and it was SO GOOD. This one of the best ramens I have had in a while. The cheese added a nice flavour to a rich chicken ramen. I had the black soy broth, while my mom tried it with the miso. I think the miso was the better option, but both were very tasty. The onigiri were not very excited and I would not order them again- but keep in mind, Akedo is a ramen and gyoza spot, and not known for their onigiri. Environment is cute and cozy, staff were friendly and service was standard. Really happy we made the stop here and would recommend to anyone in the area.
